UPDATE: Registration for the workshop is now FULL. You are welcome to still fill out the registration form, but you will be placed on a waitlist.
Do you like music? Do you like electronics? Do you like electronic music? If you answered "YES" to any of the above, sign up now for the Make Your Own Instrument workshop in the ideaLAB, August 13th and 14th, from 1-3 p.m. Jiffer Harriman, a PhD student from the CU ATLAS Institute, will introduce us to Pure Data, an open-source, visual programming language you can use to create sounds and graphics (and lots more) and how to use Pure Data with Arduino to control the sounds on the computer with real-world knobs, buttons, and other inputs.
This program is free and open to anyone ages 12-19. Space is limited - we only have enough equipment for ten people - and this is a two-day workshop, so please only register if you can attend both days. Click here to head to the registration page and sign up! Want to see what other people have done using Pure Data and Arduino? Check out some of these projects (we won't be getting as fancy as most of these - we only have four hours, after all - but you'll be taking the first steps to making stuff like this):
